Gold futures opened marginally higher on Friday at Rs 29,224 per 10 grams against the previous day's close of Rs 29,222.
August contract gold on the Multi Commodity Exchange may trade between Rs 29,200 and Rs 29,350 per 10 gram.
In Mumbai spot market, the yellow metal was trading at Rs 2,847 per gram.
Rupee has strengthened by 30 paise against dollar. This is pushing up gold prices in India.
