Gold fell 0.1 per cent, resuming this year’s decline as higher stock markets sapped investor demand.
Gold dropped 0.1 per cent to $1,574.34 an ounce, erasing an earlier gain of 0.3 per cent and after rising 0.1 per cent yesterday. Prices are down 6 per cent this year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed to a record and European stocks are higher today.
Assets in the SPDR Gold Trust, the biggest fund backed by gold, fell 8.42 metric tons.
