Gold prices fell 0.17 per cent to Rs 29,447 per 10 grams at the futures trade as participants cut down bets amid a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold prices for delivery in December fell Rs 50 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 29,447 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 245 lots. Also, the metal for delivery in February declined by Rs 37 or 0.13 per cent to Rs 29,550 per 10 grams in 23 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in prices to trimming of positions by participants due to a weak global trend. Meanwhile, gold fell 0.06 per cent to $1,293.20 an ounce in Singapore today.
