Gold futures climb to Rs 25,950 on global cues

Gold prices rose Rs 131 to Rs 25,950 per 10 grams at the futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions after the precious metal recovered in the global markets.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June was up by Rs 131 or 0.51 per cent to Rs 25,950 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 31 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April moved up by Rs 114 or 0.44 per cent to Rs 25,769 per 10 grams in a turnover of 774 lots.

Analysts said recovery in the precious metal in global markets mainly helped gold to trade higher at the futures trade here.

Globally, the yellow metal rose as much as 0.7 per cent to $1,161.855 an ounce in Singapore.
