Gold prices jumped by Rs 280 to Rs 26,668 per ten grams at the futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions tracking a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June climbed by Rs 280 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 26,668 per ten grams with a business turnover of 4,964 lots.
In a similar fashion, the yellow metal for delivery in August moved up by Rs 266 or 0.99 per cent to Rs 27,056 per ten grams in 156 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in gold futures to a firm global trend.
Meanwhile, the yellow metal rose 1.1 per cent to $1,447.25 an ounce in Singapore.
