Gold prices were up by Rs 89 to Rs 29,110 per 10 grams at the futures trade today as speculators created positions amid positive cues from the global market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June moved up by Rs 89 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 29,110 per 10 grams in a business turnover of four lots.
The metal for delivery in far-month August was trading higher by Rs 92 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 29,334 per 10 grams in a turnover of 521 lots.
Analysts said a firm trend in global market amid a weak dollar raised the demand for the precious metal.
Meanwhile, gold rose 0.2 per cent to $1,234.70 an ounce in Singapore.
