Tracking a weak trend overseas, gold futures prices fell 0.4 per cent to Rs 27,050 per 10 grams today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in February fell Rs 108 or 0.4 per cent to Rs 27,050 per 10 grams with a business turnover of 98 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December edged lower by Rs 98 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 26,789 per 10 grams with a trade volume of 3,156 lots.
Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators, taking weak cues from Asian trade, mainly kept pressure on prices at the futures trade here.
Meanwhile, gold fell 0.05 per cent to $1,678.90 an ounce in Singapore.
