Gold futures prices moved down by Rs 31 to Rs 22,149 per 10 grams today as speculators reduced their positions driven by a weakening global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October moved down by Rs 31 or 0.14 per cent to Rs 22,149 per 10 grams with a business turnover of 251 lots. Similarly, August contract lost Rs 22 or 0.1 per cent to Rs 21,882 per 10 grams with a trade volume of 3,083 lots.
Market analysts said apart from weakening global trend, fall in demand at the prevailing higher levels mainly led to the decline in gold futures prices.
Meanwhile, the yellow metal shed $1.90 to $1498.40 an ounce in the Asian region.
