Gold prices rose Rs 67 to Rs 28,511 per ten grams at the futures trade today in tune with a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June month rose Rs 67 or 0.24 per cent to Rs 28,511 per ten grams with a business turnover of 191 lots. April contract moved up by Rs 53 or 0.19 per cent to Rs 28,138 per ten grams in 7,436 lots.
Analysts said fresh buying by speculators mostly driven by a firming global trend mainly led to rise in gold prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, the yellow metal rose 0.6 per cent to $1,729.66 an ounce in Singapore.
