Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened higher at Rs 30,875 per 10 grams on Thursday against the previous close of Rs 30,845. This was largely due to a firm trend in the international markets.
In Comex, gold futures were up by $12 at $1,714 a troy ounce at 1.25 pm. At MCX, the yellow metal for December delivery was trading at Rs 30,869.
The appreciation of rupee against dollar has limited sharp gain in gold prices in India.
