Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened higher at Rs 30,952 per 10 gram on Thursday against the previous close of Rs 30,498.
In Comex, it was trading down by $3 at $1660 a troy ounce at 10.15 am.
Gold prices in the futures market may trade firm as rupee has depreciated by 12 paise against dollar in the morning.
