Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened higher at Rs 31,868 per 10 grams on Friday against the previous close of Rs 31,849.
December contract made a high of Rs 31,994 and low of Rs 31,866. It was trading higher by 0.35 per cent at Rs 31,960 at 1.05 pm.
In Comex, the yellow metal for December delivery was trading higher by $3 at $1,731 a troy ounce.
The depreciation of rupee against dollar in the currency futures market may push up gold prices in India.
