Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened lower at Rs 31,211 per 10 grams on Friday against the previous close of Rs 31,225.
It made a high of Rs 31,280 and low of Rs 31,181. February contract was trading up by 0.01 per cent at Rs 31,227 at 12.45 pm.
In Comex, the yellow metal was up $2 at $1,704 a troy ounce.
