Tracking weak cues from overseas markets, silver prices fell Rs 125 to Rs 37,875 per kg at the futures trade as speculators trimmed their bets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March was trading lower by Rs 125 or 0.33 per cent at Rs 37,875 per kg in a business turnover of 146 lots. Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 102 or 0.26 per cent to Rs 38,412 per kg in a business volume of five lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.18 per cent to $16.36 an ounce in Singapore. Traders said the fall in silver prices was largely in line with a weak trend in precious metals in global markets.
