Silver prices were higher by Rs 149 to Rs 43,082 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions owing to firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December surged Rs 149 or 0.35 per cent to Rs 43,082 per kg in a business turnover of 15 lots.
The white metal for delivery in far-month March next year was trading higher by Rs 143 or 0.33 per cent to Rs 43,695 per kg in 500 lots.
Market analysts said speculative positions built up by participants, driven by a better global trend, mainly attributed to the rise in silver prices at the futures trade here.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.47 per cent to $18.24 an ounce in Singapore.
