Tracking a firm trend in global market, silver prices spurted Rs 86 to Rs 38,157 per kg at the futures trade today, as participants enlarged positions.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month March was trading higher by Rs 86 or 0.23 per cent at Rs 38,157 per kg in a business turnover of four lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in December gained Rs 32 or 0.09 per cent to Rs 37,365 per kg in 715 lots.
In the international market, silver added 0.1 per cent to $15.90 an ounce in Singapore after touching $16.09 in yesterday’s trade, the highest level since June 23.
Market analysts said a firm trend in global market as prospects dimmed for a US interest rate increase this year, mainly influenced silver futures here.
