Silver prices moved up by Rs 145 to Rs 38,365 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators built up positions amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July gained Rs 145 or 0.38 per cent to Rs 38,365 per kg in a business turnover of 453 lots.
The white metal for delivery in far-month September was up by Rs 134 or 0.35 per cent to Rs 38,850 per kg in 39 lots.
Analysts said silver futures jumped as speculators created fresh positions in tune with a firm global trend.
Meanwhile, silver traded 0.48 per cent higher at $16.60 an ounce in Singapore.
