Silver prices were up by 0.4 per cent to Rs 41,434 per kg at the futures trading today as traders increased their bets amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March moved up by Rs 164 or 0.40 per cent to Rs 41,434 per kg in a business turnover of 201 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 156 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 42,010 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at the futures trade to a firm trend overseas as weak dollar boosted the demand for safe-haven.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.18 per cent to $17.02 an ounce in Singapore.
