Silver prices went up by Rs 133 to trade at Rs 43,706 per kg at the futures trade today as participants indulged in enlarging positions amid a firm trend in precious metals overseas.
Silver for delivery in December was up by Rs 133 or 0.31 per cent at Rs 43,706 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 328 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month March next year jumped Rs 103 or 0.23 per cent to Rs 44,312 per kg in 4 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by speculators in step with a firm trend in precious metals overseas influenced silver prices at the futures trade.
Besides, dollar’s weakness amid investors awaiting the US Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision later today, fuelled the uptrend.
Meanwhile, silver was up 0.38 per cent at $18.41 an ounce in Singapore today.
