Silver prices were trading down by Rs 76 at Rs 39,190 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators cut their holdings at current levels.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December was trading lower by Rs 76 or 0.19 per cent at Rs 39,190 per kg in a business turnover of 458 lots. On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in December shed Rs 67 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 39,875 per kg with a business turnover of 35 lots.
Market analysts said trimming of positions by speculators to book profits at current levels and a weak trend overseas mainly led to a fall in silver prices at the futures trade.
