Taking weak cues from overseas markets, silver prices moved down by 0.22 per cent to Rs 46,232 per kg at the futures trade today as participants cut down their bets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September declined by Rs 104 or 0.22 per cent to Rs 46,232 per kg in a business turnover of 646 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in December was trading lower by Rs 94 or 0.20 per cent to Rs 47,353 per kg in 18 lots.
Traders said the fall in silver prices at the futures trade was largely in step with a weak trend in precious metals in global markets.
Globally, silver fell 0.03 per cent to $19.71 an ounce in Singapore.
