Silver prices fell Rs 100 to Rs 43,438 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators cut down their bets, tracking a weak trend in global markets.
Silver for delivery in far-month May was down by Rs 100 or 0.23 per cent at Rs 43,438 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange. It clocked a business volume of 57 lots.
The white metal for delivery in March fell Rs 79 to Rs 42,931 per kg in a business turnover of 605 lots.
Market analysts said profit-booking at prevailing levels and a weak trend in the precious metals overseas, mainly pulled down silver prices at the futures trade.
In the international market, silver traded 0.19 per cent higher at $18.02 an ounce in Singapore.
