Silver prices retreated by Rs 58 to Rs 34,045 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators trimmed their exposure, tracking a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in far-month May contract was trading Rs 58 or 0.17 per cent lower at Rs 34,045 per kg in a business turnover of 10 lots.
Similarly, the white metal prices for delivery in March contract shed Rs 42 or 0.12 per cent to Rs 33,622 per kg in a business volume of 435 lots.
In the international market, silver traded 0.13 per cent down at $13.82 an ounce in Singapore.
Analysts attributed the fall in silver prices in futures trade to a weak trend in global markets and profit-booking by speculators at existing levels.
