Tracking a weak trend overseas, silver prices fell Rs 103 to Rs 35,761 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators engaged in off-loading positions.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December lost Rs 103 or 0.29 per cent to Rs 35,761 per kg with a turnover of 119 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in September was trading down by Rs 94 or 0.27 per cent at Rs 34,284 per kg in a business turnover of 267 lots.
Marketmen said a weak trend in global markets, as investors weighed comments from Federal Reserve officials reflecting on a potential interest rate increase in the US, mainly kept pressure on silver futures here.
Globally, the white metal dropped 0.3 per cent to $14.55 an ounce in Singapore today.
