Falling for the second straight day, silver prices eased further by 0.35 per cent to Rs 37,075 per kg at the futures market today as participants cut down their bets amid a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 132 or 0.35 per cent at Rs 37,075 per kg, in a business turnover of 37,207 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 94 or 0.25 per cent to Rs 37,469 per kg in 85 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by traders in line with a weak global trend mainly kept silver prices lower at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver traded 0.69 per cent lower at Rs 15.10 an ounce in New York in yesterday’s trade.
