Silver prices declined by 0.17 per cent to Rs 41,360 per kg at the futures market today as speculators trimmed their bets in line with a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month May fell Rs 71 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 41,360 per kg, in a business turnover of 24 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in March was trading lower by Rs 32 or 0.08 per cent at Rs 40,827 per kg in 1,729 lots.
Traders said offloading of positions by participants in tandem with a weak trend overseas, mainly influenced silver prices at the futures trade.
Globally, silver fell 0.42 per cent to $16.67 an ounce in Singapore.
