Silver prices went up by Rs 234 to trade at Rs 47,247 per kg at the futures trade today as participants indulged in enlarging positions amid a firm trend in precious metals overseas.
Silver for delivery in December was up by Rs 234 or 0.50 per cent at Rs 47,247 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 385 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in March next year climbed Rs 222 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 48,206 per kg in one lot.
Analysts said widening of positions by speculators in step with a firm trend in global markets influenced silver prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver was up 0.46 per cent at $19.84 an ounce in Singapore today.
