Silver prices were up by Rs 274 to Rs 36,300 per kg at the futures trade today after participants raised their bets amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month July was up by Rs 274 or 0.76 per cent to Rs 36,300 per kg in a business turnover of 7 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 256 or 0.72 per cent to Rs 35,837 per kg in a business volume of 359 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at the futures trade to a firm trend in precious metals overseas as dollar’s safe-haven appeal weakened.
Globally, silver traded 1.17 per cent higher at $15.08 an ounce in Singapore today.
