Silver prices rose Rs 142 to Rs 45,910 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators raised bets amid a firm trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month March was up by Rs 142 or 0.31 per cent at Rs 45,910 per kg in a business turnover of 33 lots.
In a similar manner, silver for delivery in December gained Rs 121 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 45,014 per kg in 1,012 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators, tracking a firm trend in global markets for the precious metal, supported the upside in silver prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver was up 0.19 per cent at $18.82 an ounce in Singapore.
