Silver prices moved up by 0.77 per cent to Rs 46,481 per kg at futures trade today as traders enlarged positions, tracking a firm trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September shot up by Rs 356 or 0.77 per cent to Rs 46,481 per kg in a business turnover of 1,179 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 347 or 0.73 per cent to Rs 47,583 per kg in 55 lots.
Analysts said speculators enlarged positions in tune with a firm global trend, which mainly pushed up silver prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.56 per cent to $19.85 an ounce in Singapore.
