Taking positive cues from overseas markets, silver prices rose 0.48 per cent to Rs 33,724 per kg at the futures trading today as participants increased their positions.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December rose Rs 162 or 0.48 per cent to Rs 33,724 per kg in a business turnover of 303 lots.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in far-month March next year traded higher by Rs 142 or 0.41 per cent to Rs 34,415 per kg in eight lots.
Traders attributed the rise in silver futures to a firm global trend.
Globally, silver rose 0.8 per cent to $14.29 an ounce in Singapore.
