Silver prices rose Rs 192 to Rs 44,490 per kg at the futures trade today as participants widened their bets amid a firm trend in precious metals overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery this month was trading higher by Rs 192 or 0.43 per cent at Rs 44,490 per kg in a business turnover of 12 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month December rallied by Rs 139 or 0.31 per cent to Rs 45,318 per kg in 987 lots.
Analysts said widening of bets by speculators in tandem with a firm trend in precious metals overseas influenced silver prices at the futures trade here.
Meanwhile, silver was up 0.21 per cent at $18.90 an ounce in Singapore.
