Taking positive cues from the global market, silver prices rose Rs 145 to Rs 49,332 per kg at the futures trade today as traders created speculative positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December was trading higher by Rs 145 or 0.29 per cent at Rs 49,332 per kg in a business turnover of 7 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in September rose Rs 135 or 0.28 per cent to Rs 48,206 per kg in 618 lots.
In the international market, silver gained 0.17 per cent to $20.60 an ounce in Singapore.
Market analysts said a firm trend in the precious metals in global market mainly attributed to the rise in silver prices at the futures trade here.
