Shares of HCL Technologies today surged nearly 3 per cent on the BSE adding Rs 1,497 crore to its market capitalisation on reports that the IT firm has bagged a multi-year contract from US-based Ford Motor Company.
According to a media report, HCL Technologies bagged a multi-year infrastructure management services contract worth around $100 million from the automaker.
During the day the shares of the company which had surged 3.74 per cent to touch an intra-day high of Rs 804, finally settled for the day at Rs 795.95, up 2.69 per cent from its previous closing price.
Accordingly, the market capitalisation of the company has improved by Rs 1,497 crore to Rs 55,333 crore.
The uptrend in the stock was largely a knee jerk reaction to the $100 million contract that HCL Technologies has reportedly bagged from Ford Motor Company.
