IFCI has sold 0.22 per cent stake in the country’s largest equity bourse NSE for ₹93.93 crore.
As many as 10.75 lakh shares of NSE at the rate of ₹873.74 a share were sold on Wednesday, IFCI said in a regulatory filing on Thursday. IFCI officials, however, declined to name the buyer/buyers of this 0.22 per cent stake.
The selling price per share this time around was much lower than that realised in January when IFCI sold 0.20 per cent stake in NSE, sources said.
It may be recalled that this government company had, in January this year, offloaded 0.20 per cent stake in NSE for ₹92.51 crore.
The selling price in January was ₹925.1 a share. IFCI has been undertaking partial divestment of its holding in NSE from time to time.
In September last year, IFCI’s board had approved the sale of 0.86 per cent stake in NSE to one or more interested buyers in part or full. As of September 30, 2017, IFCI had 3.05 per cent stake in NSE.
On Thursday, IFCI’s shares closed 0.98 per cent lower at ₹20.15 on the BSE.
