Stock such as Nestle, Tech Mahindra, YES Bank, Allahabad Bank and PI Industries gained in early trade on Friday as they will enter the MSCI index on November 26.
MSCI had reviewed and made some changes in the constituents in its global standard index and small-cap index on Thursday.
However, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Unitech and Wockhardt have been excluded from the index, which will take place as of the close of November 26, 2013.
The small-cap index additions include Allahabad Bank, Astrazeneca Pharma, Dish TV, Fortis Health, Just Dial, Linde India, Natco Pharma, OBC, PI Industries, PVR, Unitech, and Wockhardt, while deletions include Aban, Bluestar, Clariant Chemicals, Eros, FT, HCL Info, Ingersol Rand, Ipca Labs, Novartis, OMDC, Rolta, and Sintex.
Stocks, which are facing exclusion, are trading under pressure.
