The top seven blue-chip Sensex companies saw a cumulative addition of ₹28,234 crore in their market capitalisation (m-cap) last week.
Of the seven companies, Coal India Ltd and SBI were the top gainers in an overall strong stock market. ONGC, ITC and Infosys were the losers for the week ended April 11.
With a surge of ₹6,980 crore at ₹1,85,101 crore, CIL was the biggest gainer among the top 10 firms.
SBI’s m-cap soared ₹6,723 crore to reach ₹1,48,889 crore, while TCS added ₹4,730 crore at ₹4,23,809 crore.
The market worth of HDFC climbed ₹3,519 crore to ₹1,43,201 crore, while HDFC Bank’s valuation rose by₹2,890 crore at ₹ 1,77,013 crore.
RIL’s m-cap jumped ₹2,795 crore to reach ₹3,07,951 crore and the value of ICICI Bank went up by ₹597 crore, to ₹1,42,681 crore.
On the other hand, ONGC lost ₹4,662 crore. Its m-cap was ₹2,73,904 crore, while Infosys’ value plunged by ₹4,574 crore to Rs 1,85,814 crore.
Similarly, the m-cap of ITC slipped ₹994 crore and stood at ₹2,73,470 crore.
In the ranking of top-10 firms, TCS remained in the number one position, followed by RIL, ONGC, ITC, Infosys, CIL, HDFC Bank, SBI, HDFC and ICICI Bank.
Over the last week, the Sensex ended with a gain of 269.46 points at 22,628.96.
