Titagarh Wagons has been awarded a contract for manufacture and supply of 5,058 wagons to Indian Railways for ₹1,560.87 crore. The order was bagged through the bidding process, conducted via the reverse auction method. These wagons are BOXN HL type, designed to carry coal, steel, stones, etc. While one-third of the quantity (1,686 wagons) has to be supplied within six months, the delivery of the full order has to completed by February 2020.
