IT majors Infosys and HCL Technologies maintained their firm undertone to end Friday's session on the NSE on a firm note.
Infosys was the top gainer, up 6.63 per cent at ₹3,888.65 as against ₹3,646.80 at close on Thursday.
Earlier today the company announced that its Q2 numbers had bettered expectations, with net profit growing 7.3% at ₹3,096 crore.
HCL Technologies built on its early gains. It finished the session up 2.48 per cent at ₹1,737.50. The share had ended the previous session at ₹1,695.50.
Asian Paints spurted 1.24 per cent at ₹663.25 as against ₹655.15 at close yesterday.
BHEL was quoting at ₹221.60. This represented a gain of 1.16 per cent on its overnight close at ₹219.05.
Sun Pharma rose 0.81 per cent at ₹821.35 as against its overnight close at ₹814.75.
