ONGC came off its morning highs in late trading on Monday. At 3.15 pm the stock was quoting at ₹419.30 on the BSE as against ₹397.25 at close on Friday. This was a gain of 5.55 per cent.
The market soared nearly 400 points in Monday morning trade, lifted by oil sector reforms announced by the Government on Saturday and the resounding victory registered by the BJP in the Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana.
Hindalco Industries spiked up 4.72 per cent at ₹146.30. The share had ended the previous session at ₹139.70.
Tata Motors edged up further to hold gains of 4.05 per cent at ₹495 as against its Friday close at ₹475.75.
Axis Bank also made further ground to trade at ₹417.85, up 3.96 per cent on its previous close at ₹401.95.
Larsen & Toubro was firm but had lost some of its morning gains ahead of the close. It was trading at ₹1,492.25, up 2.74 per cent on its previous close at ₹1,452.45.
