Rakesh Jhunjhunwalas' portfolio takes a beating as many stocks hit lows

With stock markets being volatile and stock movements unpredictable, many of the stocks in the Mr Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's precious portfolio touched 52-week lows on Thursday. Among the stocks that he owns, most have either touched 52-week lows or all-time lows on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

According to the share holding pattern available on the BSE, Mr Jhunjhunwala holds 1,900,000 shares and 1.66 per cent shares (of the total) in Provogue (India) Ltd (as on quarter ending September 2011). The stock has been hitting new lows on the BSE for the last few consecutive days. The stock closed at Rs 19.80, down 1.74 per cent from its previous close on the BSE on Thursday.

A2Z Maintenance and Engineering Services Ltd, in which Mr Jhunjhunwala owns close to 19 per cent of the total shares (as on quarter ending September 2011) closed at Rs 108.80, down 4.56 per cent. It touched an all-time low at Rs 107 during intra-day trade.

Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd, which is a part of the Big Bull's portfolio, touched a new low at Rs 45.45, down 7.53 per cent from its previous close. The stock also touched a 52-week low during intra-day trade.

Alphageo India, where the investor owns 125,000 shares, touched a 52-week low at Rs 60.30 during intra-day trade. Bilcare Ltd, another of his stocks, touched a 52-week low at Rs 173.20 during intra-day trade. Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services also hit a similar low touching Rs 15.50 during intra-day trade.

Some other stocks held by the billionaire investor such as Agro Tech Foods Ltd, Autoline Industries Ltd, CRISIL Ltd, Geometric Ltd, Hindustan Oil Exploration Co. Ltd, Ion Exchange (India) Ltd, Zen Technologies and Karur Vysya Bank Ltdimited closed in red on the BSE.
