Finance Minister P Chidambaram is expected to meet both the capital market and banking regulator along with other market entities on Saturday in a series of back-to-back meetings.
Chidambaram is expected to start his marathon meeting sessions with the Reserve Bank of India officials. Next on the agenda is the meeting with the Securities and Exchange Board of India officials, followed by separate meetings with the stock exchange and the Association of Mutual Funds in India officials.
The SEBI board will have a meeting of its own other than the session with the Minister. The Board meeting is likely to cover issues such as relaxation of collateral norms for FIIs, revival of the derivatives market, single KYC and changes in debt market norms, among others.
The FM is also expected to meet foreign institutional investors later in the day.
