Bank stocks fell sharply on Wednesday after an RBI panel suggested that the Consumer Price Index be used for setting monetary policy instead of the Wholesale Price Index. Expectations on rate action may drive bank stocks until January 28, when the next monetary policy review is due, even as Indian Bank and Corporation Bank unveil results on Thursday.
With banks announcing a mixed show so far, it would be interesting to see how these lenders fare on the financial front.
Investors would be looking at the asset quality of these banks.
