Shares of Shree Renuka Sugars will buzz with activity on the bourses as Wilmar Sugar Holdings along with SRS Investments has come out with an open offer to the shareholders of Shree Renuka Sugars to buy 24.32 crore shares, constituting 26 per cent of the company’s equity base. Wilmar has offered ₹21.89 a share to the shareholders. The open offer became mandatory following the board of directors approving the allotment of 25.75 crore shares on a preferential basis to Wilmar International Ltd.

Uttam Value Steels gets strategic investors

Shares of Uttam Value Steels, earlier Lloyds Steels, will be active as the company’s board is meeting on Friday to consider and approve a preferential allotment of equity shares to certain strategic investors. The company, however, did not disclose the details of the investors or the price. Last year, Uttam Galva group acquired the loss-making Lloyds Steel and renamed it Uttam Value Steels. The company posted a loss of ₹28 crore on a revenue of ₹1,531 crore for the quarter ended December 2013. \

Rising prices to keep Tata Coffee simmering

Shares of Tata Coffee will remain in focus as coffee futures posted the biggest two-day gains in 11 years on drought damaging the coffee crop in Brazil, the world’s biggest exporter of the commodity. Dry weather is plaguing growing areas in Brazil that accounts for a third of the world’s coffee. Exports of Indian coffee in January were up 38 per cent on strong global prices and low supply. Tata Coffee is likely to benefit from high commodity prices. The Tata Coffee stock on Thursday gained 2.4 per cent at ₹926.9.
