Defying the sluggish broader market sentiment, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group companies on Friday rose up to 13.36 per cent on the bourses, with Reliance MediaWorks stealing the show as investors bought the shares at prevailing low levels.
The Anil Ambani-led film and entertainment services firm gained 13.36 per cent to Rs 171 a piece on Bombay Stock Exchange. During intra-day session, Reliance Media had advanced by 15.67 per cent to Rs 174.50 a share.
According to market experts, these stocks had not participated in the recent market rally and today’s surge was spurred by buyers, keen on bargain-hunting at the existing low levels.
Reliance Broadcast Network surged by 7.76 per cent, Reliance Capital by 5.70 per cent, Reliance Communications by 3.67 per cent, Reliance Infrastructure by 0.96 per cent and Reliance Power by 2.39 per cent.
Meanwhile, the BSE 30-share index Sensex closed 24.83 points down at 19,420.39 level.
