Bharti Airtel and its arm Bharti Hexacom Ltd will acquire Aircel and its subsidiaries’ fourth generation spectrum in eight circles for ₹3,500 crore to become a pan-India 4G player. The development comes close on the heels of the telecom behemoth signing a pact with Videocon Telecommunications to buy the latter’s airwaves in six circles. Apart from Bharti Airtel, shares of other telecom firms will also remain in focus at the bourses.
