The Supreme Court has admitted the Sahara Group’s appeal against the SAT order on Friday. The case has been listed for hearing on December 3. On Thursday, SAT had refused to accept custody of Sahara Group’s Rs 17,400 crore plus interest with the SAT registry, instead of SEBI, citing lack of jurisdiction.
The counsel for Sahara told the bench that the company was ready with a draft of Rs 5,100 crore for deposit in the apex court’s registry.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Altamas Kabir listed the matter for hearing on Monday.
