Shares of Ashok Leyland today surged to a one-year high of over 9 per cent after the company reported a 48.04 per cent jump in total sales in December 2014.
Ashok Leyland’s scrip jumped 9.17 per cent to Rs 58.30 — its 52-week high at the BSE.
On the NSE, it gained 9 per cent to hit a one-year peak of Rs 58.25.
Hinduja Group flagship company Ashok Leyland today reported a 48.04 per cent jump in its total sales at 9,290 units in December 2014.
The company had sold 6,275 units during the same month of 2013, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.
Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles during the month went up by 85.34 per cent to 7,210 units from 3,890 units sold in the year-ago period.
Sales of light commercial vehicles in December 2014 dropped by 12.78 per cent to 2,080 units from 2,385 units sold in the same month a year ago.
