Auto shares trade firm on BSE, Maruti Suzuki up over 3%

Auto stocks began the week on a positive note. Maruti Suzuki, M&M, Tata Motors and Hero MotoCorp were among the top gainers on the BSE on Monday morning. At 10.30 am the top gainer on the bourse was Maruti Suzuki, which posted gains of 3.19 per cent at Rs 3,467 as against Rs 3,359.70 at close on Friday.

Larsen & Toubro built gains of 2.23 per cent at Rs 1,569 as against Rs 1,534.70 at close last week.

In the broader market, both the Sensex and the Nifty continued their uptrend with the former reclaiming the 28,000-level in the morning session. The Nifty was up 30 points at over 8,400 points.

M&M zipped up 1.64 per cent to quote at Rs 1,244.90 as against Rs 1,224.80 at close on Friday.

Tata Steel vaulted up 1.61 per cent to trade at Rs 417.40 as against Rs 410.80 at close in the previous session.

Tata Motors sped up 1.34 per cent at Rs 518.55 as against Rs 511.70 at close yesterday.
