Private sector lender Axis Bank extended Saturday’s firm trend into trading on Monday. At 10.40 am it was the top gainer on the BSE, quoting at Rs 637.70. This represented a gain of 3.96 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 613.40.
Larsen & Toubro climbed up 3.45 per cent to trade at Rs 1,827.90. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 1,766.90.
HDFC Bank was the other private bank in the limelight, notching up gains of 2.45 per cent at Rs 1,094. The scrip had closed the overnight session at Rs 1,067.85.
BHEL charged up 2.08 per cent at Rs 267.60. The scrip had closed the previous session at Rs 262.15.
Maruti Suzuki rode up 2.07 per cent at Rs 3,693.30 as against Rs 3,618.25.
